At 6:24pm on Monday, 19 February, we received reports of an animal in distress near Bottle Lane near Warfield.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Bracknell and Maidenhead were sent to the scene alongside an Animal Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a horse trapped in a ditch. Firefighters helped the horse out of the ditch before placing it in the care of a vet.
Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 50 minutes.
