Commercial Property Fire in Bracknell

At 4:24pm on Monday, 18 November, we received reports of a fire at a commercial property on Priestwood Court Road in Bracknell.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Ascot, Wokingham and Crowthorne fire stations attended the scene, alongside one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire on the first floor. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one extinguisher to put out the fire, before using a fan to ventilate the area. Although the exact cause can’t be confirmed at this time, the fire is believed to have involved a tumble dryer.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 31 minutes.

This offers a timely reminder to follow the below tips to safely maintain your tumble dryer:

  • Clean out lint and fluff from the filter and around the door after every use.
  • Watch out for scorching or burn marks, and check for loose or worn wires.
  • Have your dryer serviced annually by a qualified engineer.
