At 12:05pm on Thursday, 21 December, we received a call to a report of a dangerous structure on Northbrook Street in Newbury.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Newbury Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews found that roof tiles had fallen from a business premise on Northbrook Street.
Unfortunately, a child was hit by one of the roof tiles and was treated by firefighters at the scene.
Firefighters carried out a full inspection of the roof and found no further tiles to be loose, and handed the scene over to Thames Valley Police.
The crew was on the scene for approximately one hour 27 minutes.
