At 1:55am on Sunday, 28 July, we received reports of a fire on Westall Street in Shinfield.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road Wokingham, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the ground floor of a semi-detached house. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and a hydrant to extinguish the fire.
Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 44 minutes before returning later to reinspect the property.
