At 6:11pm on Wednesday, 27 April, we received reports of a fire in a field on Circuit Lane, Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood, Theale and Wokingham fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and two RBFRS Officers.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed a large field fire measuring approximately 600m x 600m.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using four hose reels, one main jet and fire beaters.
Crews were initially on the scene for approximately three hours and 50 minutes, but returned in the morning to check for hot spots and ensure the fire was fully out.
