At 5:06am on Monday, 29 July, we received reports of a fire in the open next to the M4 between Junctions 12 and 13.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Theale Community Fire Station was sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, the crew discovered a small fire near the hard shoulder. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
The crew was as at the scene for approximately 27 minutes before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police.
