At 1:37am on Saturday, 4 March, we received reports of a fire on Sandbrooke Walk in Burghfield Common.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Mortimer and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an officer.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire on the upper floor of a house. Using two hose reels, four firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus extinguished the fire before ventilating the property.
Following the fire, a person was placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service after receiving immediate emergency care from firefighters.
Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour and 25 minutes.
