At 2:47pm on Wednesday, 25 December, we received reports of a fire on Gas Works Road in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood, Theale, Wokingham and Bracknell fire stations attended the scene, alongside two Officers.
Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the basement of the building. The ground floor of the building was evacuated, while six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one jet and two hose reels to put out the fire, before ventilating the property. All people were safely accounted for.
They were on scene for approximately two hours and 23 minutes.
