At 8:59pm on Friday, 29 April, we received reports of a house fire on Thurso Close in Tilehurst.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service Crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Mortimer, Bracknell, Whitley Wood and Theale Fire Stations were sent to the scene alongside an Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit and three Officers. Crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service also responded to the incident.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a first floor flat that had spread into the roof space of a residential building. Firefighters equipped in breathing apparatus used the aerial ladder platform, three hose reels and one main jet to extinguish the fire.
Crews were on the scene for approximately three hours and 20 minutes before returning the following morning to inspect the property for hotspots.
