At 4.18pm on Tuesday, 9 May, we received reports of a roof on fire after being struck by lightning, at a property in Reynards Close, Winnersh.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Whitley Wood were sent to the scene, together with the Aerial Ladder Platform.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using three hose reels. Crews were on the scene for about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
