Incident in Reading

At 1:38am on Thursday, 18 July, we received reports of an incident on King Street in Reading.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found that a compressed gas cylinder had burst after being affected by fire. Firefighters worked with Thames Valley Police to establish a safety cordon around the area whilst they made the scene safe.

After establishing that the contents represented a low hazard and that there had been no structural damage to the building, the crew handed the scene over to Thames Valley Police.

The crew were at the scene for approximately one hour and 36 minutes.
