At 10:18pm on Saturday, 22 June, we received reports of a fire on New Bright Street in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a kitchen fire in a flat. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reels to extinguish the fire before using a fan to ventilate the property. Crews provided immediate emergency care to one person at the scene.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
