At 5am on Friday, 2 August, we were called to reports of a fire in Whitley Street, Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale were sent to the scene, together with two Officers.
Crews found a fire in the kitchen of a ground floor restaurant, with light smoke in flats on the first and second floor. All people were accounted for. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hose reels.
Crews were on the scene for about one hour and 50 minutes.
