At 9:15am on Wednesday, 19 February, we received reports of an incident on Amethyst Lane in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and a Heavy Rescue Unit from Theale Community Fire Station. Four Officer were also sent to the scene.
Upon arrival crews found a collapsed trench at a construction site. Firefighters rescued two people from the trench before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
