At 7pm on Friday, 5 July, we received reports of a road traffic collision on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 13 and 14.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Hungerford fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the Heavy Rescue Unit from Theale Community Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a collision involving four vehicles. Firefighters rescued a person from one of the vehicles before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS). Crews then made the scene safe whilst two other people were taken into the care of SCAS.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 20 minutes.
