At 1:33pm on Monday, 7 October, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue in the River Thames near Temple Island in Remenham.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Maidenhead and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer, a Water Rescue Unit and a crew from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a calf stuck in the river. Firefighters worked with the farmer to rescue the calf from the water.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 28 minutes.
