At 3.21pm on Thursday, 26 September, we received reports of a fire at a domestic property on Blackberry Gardens, Winnersh.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham, Theale and Slough were sent to the scene.
Firefighters found that a lightning strike had struck the chimney of a house, which collapsed into the rear garden. There were no signs of fire but firefighters worked at height to inspect the loft and chimney to make the scene safe.
