At 8:35am on Monday, 29 April, we received reports of a vehicle fire on Reading Road in Woodley.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service crews from Caversham Road and Wokingham Road were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire involving an electric heavy goods vehicle. Firefighters identified a malfunction in the vehicles battery and used one hose reel to cool the vehicle. Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
Crews were at the scene for approximately 35 minutes.
