At 3:20pm on Sunday, 27 August, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 near Chieveley.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury, Hungerford and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered one vehicle on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet and a dry powder fire extinguisher to put out the fire. One person was taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour.
