At 3:48am on Sunday, 31 March, we received reports of an incident near Cookham Lock in Cookham.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Maidenhead Fire Station was sent to the scene alongside an Officer, crews from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and Water Rescue Units from Caversham Road and Slough fire stations.
Upon arrival, crews found and rescued two kayakers that had gotten stuck near a weir. Both kayakers were taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service following the rescue.
Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 25 minutes.
