If you’re planning a spring clean this Easter, firefighters from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service will be offering a helping hand this Saturday (26 March) for two very deserving charities!
Newbury firefighters will be washing vehicles at the fire station in Hawthorn Road between 10am and 4pm for The Fire Fighters Charity and Children with Cancer UK.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides a range of services for fire service personnel and their families, including therapy and rehabilitation for injured firefighters. Additionally, firefighters will be raising money for Children with Cancer UK, a leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.Their aims are to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.
Matt Frayne, Station Commander at Newbury Fire Station, said: “The car wash will provide us with a great opportunity to support our chosen charities for the event – The Fire Fighters Charity and Children with Cancer UK. We are hoping for a really good turn out so we can raise as much money as possible for two very deserving causes.
“Whether you are looking for some help with spring cleaning your car this year, or want to come down and talk to the crew about home fire safety, we will be on hand throughout the day and we are look forward to seeing everyone!”
The suggested minimum donation is £5 per car.
