Road safety advice issued after series of road traffic collisions

Following a series of road traffic collisions, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) has issued some safety advice to help make Berkshire’s roads safer.

In the past 24 hours, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters have responded to three road traffic collisions (RTC).

The first call came into Thames Valley Fire Control Service at 10.07am on Wednesday, 11 October to a road traffic collision involving a car on the M4 westbound between West Drayton (Junction 5) and Langley (Junction 5).

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Langley Fire Station were sent to the scene alongside two fire crews from London Fire Brigade.

Firefighters assisted partner agencies and made the scene safe.

The second call came through to Thames Valley Fire Control Service from Thames Valley Police at 2.15pm on Wednesday, 11 October to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the Bath Road, Sulhampstead.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Dee Road and Whitley Wood were sent to the scene.

Firefighters again assisted in making the scene safe before the people involved in the incident were handed over to South Central Ambulance Service.

The third call came through from South Central Ambulance Service to Thames Valley Fire Control Service at 10.21pm on Wednesday, 11 October to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the junction of London Road on Fernbank Road, Ascot.

A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Ascot Fire Station attended the scene. Firefighters again made the scene safe.
