RBFRS was awarded Workplace of the Year at the Get Berkshire Active awards on Friday night.
Helen Morbin, RBFRS’ Health and Fitness Adviser, said: “We are delighted to have won Workplace of the Year at the Get Berkshire Active Awards. We remain committed to maintaining and improving the health, fitness and wellbeing of all our staff throughout their careers with RBFRS and will seek out new and innovative ways to do this.”
Get Berkshire Active is the County Sports Partnership for Berkshire promoting the benefits of sport and physical activity. The annual awards, now in their sixth year, recognise the people that have excelled in a sport or physical activity setting throughout the last year. They are a celebration of the people and organisations that promote, volunteer, work, support and take part in all types of sport and physical activity within Berkshire.
The submission for the award focused around our work to improve the physical fitness of our staff including the provision of equipment, policies around time and fitness standards, the functional fitness project, the training and development of our Physical Education Supervisors. Through these initiatives, a significant number of people working in Berkshire are active each week.
It also included that; all staff are encouraged to be active through health promotion campaigns, are able to access the expert supports available and that as organisation RBFRS is committed to the broader health and wellbeing agenda of the community we serve.
