Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

To coincide with National Apprenticeship Week, which takes place between 3-9 February, the Service has published a number of stories from past and present apprentices.

Since August 2017, apprentices have been gaining and developing valuable skills and experience as a result of the opportunities offered at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).

RBFRS is supporting National Apprenticeship Week – an annual celebration of the impact that apprenticeships have on individuals, employers and the economy.

There are currently a number of apprentices and roles at RBFRS, working in the Human Resources, Resourcing and Development, Business Support and Facilities and ICT teams.

RBFRS is also promoting the #AskAnApprentice Q&A on Twitter, which is being run by National Apprenticeship Service, taking place from 12 to 2pm on Wednesday, 5 February.

RBFRS has a People Strategy, which is underpinned by the principle of enabling staff to become the best public servants they can be.

As an employer, RBFRS recognises that their workforce and their commitment to the public is what allows them to deliver excellent services to the people they serve.

All of the apprentices have contributed to increasing diversity, and are an excellent indication of how RBFRS is committed to developing and valuing staff through the benefits that our apprenticeship roles bring both to individuals and to the Service.

Throughout the week, stories will be shared from past and present apprentices. Follow these using the hashtags #NAW2020 and #OneTeamForBerkshire.

As an employer, the Service is committed to continuing to provide more apprenticeships to those across the County. All vacancies are posted online so please keep your eye out for upcoming opportunities at rbfrs.co.uk/ vacancies.
