About FireFit
FireFit is a free health and fitness training programme for people who are interested in becoming an On-Call Firefighter. Anyone aged 17 years and older is welcome to attend, including people from underrepresented groups. Our on-call fire stations are in Lambourn, Hungerford, Crowthorne, Maidenhead and Mortimer. To become an on-call firefighter in Berkshire, you must live or work within 6-8 minutes of these stations.
There are a total of six weekly sessions, that will run at Hungerford Community Fire Station. Weeks One to Five will run at 7pm on Wednesday, 8 January; Wednesday, 15 January; Wednesday, 22 January; Wednesday, 29 January; and Wednesday, 5 February respectively. Week Six will lead into the National Firefighter Selection Test scheduled for February.
Each session will introduce a series of cardio and strength exercises in the form of circuit training, that will focus on different muscle groups, helping you to gradually build up to the fitness level that is required to be a Firefighter.
