Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is delighted and humbled to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the English Veterans Awards, in the ‘Employer of the Year’ category.
RBFRS is committed to promoting the inclusion of those who have served their country as part of RBFRS’ broader equality, diversity and inclusion programme.
RBFRS is a ‘good fit’ employer for veterans to transition to and employs at least 25 veterans in a variety of roles including frontline firefighter, ICT, Programme Office, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Facilities and Communications and Engagement.
We recognise that ex-forces personnel have great strengths and strong transferable skills to bring to any role within our fire and rescue service. Besides often having professional and vocational qualifications, they have a strong commitment to public service and community.
RBFRS has established pathways for transition from the Armed Forces to the fire and rescue service.
