Online workplace fire safety sessions
Introduction to Fire Safety in the Workplace
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) is planning to run FREE online sessions to help businesses understand their responsibilities for relevant fire safety legislation.
We are committed to working alongside local businesses to help improve your knowledge and levels of fire safety in our community and, in turn, collaboratively keep your residents, staff, clients and Royal Berkshire safer.
These sessions aim to provide you with a better appreciation of:
- The Fire Safety Order
- The need for fire risk assessment
- The application of fire safety measures within your workplace
- Outline the fire safety audit process
The sessions will be presented online via Microsoft Teams by qualified Fire Safety Officers, and will last approximately 90 minutes.
If you have any specific questions, these can sent before the session. This will allow the presenting inspector to ensure the session runs smoothly and queries are answered.
The sessions will run quarterly with four dates offered for differing risk premises:
- Residential (Blocks of flats, care homes etc.)
- Non-Residential premises (shops, offices etc.)
We can arrange bespoke sessions, if you feel your business community would benefit from this. Please request this on your registration form and we will organise this with you. Bespoke sessions require a minimum of five staff members.
There will be no expectation for you to appear on camera. There is also the option to ask questions throughout the session using the chat function.
Booking is simple and can be completed using the form below. Once completed an email will be sent to confirm receipt of your registration of interest:
Please note questions about specific premises are difficult to answer if we have not visited. Also please note we will not risk assess premises as part of these sessions.
Sessions can be organised to focus on specific sectors of the business community, such as licensing, care homes, or retail, to look at the official guidance documents relating to that premises type.
These focussed sessions may be arranged for a targeted audience by us, or they can be organised based on requests from the business community and our partnership groups.
