Fire Authority
Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA) has a legal duty to ensure that an effective fire and rescue service is provided across Berkshire.
The Authority is known as a ‘Combined Fire Authority’ which means it is made up of 20 elected councillors from the six Unitary Authorities in Berkshire: Bracknell Forest, Slough Borough, Reading Borough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, West Berkshire and Wokingham.
In addition to full Fire Authority meetings, RBFA has two committees, Audit and Governance Committee and Management Committee. They meet regularly to ensure the proper running of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).
RBFA and committee meetings are open to the public.
